Therapeutic Approach
Amanda's approach is strengths-based and collaborative, grounded in trauma-informed practice and inclusivity. Her work is person-centered and focuses on taking meaningful steps towards healing and growth. Amanda employs evidenced-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy (NT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients build practical skills while increasing insight and self-acceptance. Her goal is to help clients feel empowered and supported as they navigate challenges and create lasting change.
About Me
Amanda Gaines is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Wingate University and a Master's of Social Work from Kennesaw State University. During her time at KSU, she also served as Vice President of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society.
Amanda has worked in organizations including The Department of Veterans Affairs, immigration nonprofits, and virtual intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). She has experience collaborating with clients across the lifespan, from teens (13+) through older adults (65+), and has a particular passion for supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Her focus is on creating an empowering, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
