What I Help With
Who I Work With
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in warmth, collaboration, and respect for each person's unique journey. I work from a person-centered foundation, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences openly and at your own pace. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused strategies, I help clients build practical skills while deepening insight and self-understanding. Together, we focus on strengthening your ability to stay present, manage difficult emotions, and move toward the values that matter most to you. In our work, we highlight your strengths, identify what's already working, and develop meaningful steps that support healing and growth. My goal is to help you feel empowered, understood, and supported as you navigate challenges and create lasting change.
About Amanda
Amanda Gaines is a Master Social Worker with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wingate University and a Master of Social Work from Kennesaw State University, where she served as Vice President of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society.
In her practice, Amanda takes an inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach. She believes that each client's story is unique, and she tailors each session to meet the individual needs of the person in front of her. Amanda understands that meaningful change in therapy takes patience, dedication, and courage—and she is passionate about walking alongside her clients as they navigate their own journeys of growth and healing.
Amanda has worked in organizations including The Department of Veterans Affairs, immigration nonprofits, and virtual intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). She has experience collaborating with clients across the lifespan, from young adults (18+) through older adults (65+), and has a particular passion for supporting young adults and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Her focus is on creating an empowering, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
